First “Seminar@Hadley” now available on Web site Winnetka, IL? The Hadley School for the Blind broadcast its first seminar over the Internet Wednesday, April 26, on “Braille: Every Day, Every Way” as part of its new series, “Seminars@Hadley.” Interest in the seminar was so great that the enrollment limit was reached within 48 hours after the first announcement. The free seminar lasted approximately 90 minutes and was open to Hadley students enrolled in the Professional Education and Family Education programs and the general public. In the coming months, Hadley plans to host additional seminars focusing on blindness issues, as well as general topics. Participants in the April seminar learned how braille can positively impact the lives of people who are blind, the importance and value of braille and how braille can be used in everyday life. Topics covered included braille on maps, restaurant menus, labeling personal home items, note-taking and braille in the work place. During the seminar, participants had the opportunity to interact with seminar instructors. If you missed the seminar, you may access the recording and resource list on the Hadley Web site at http://www.hadley.edu.
