Louis Braille Bicentennial Traveling Exhibit Stops at Hadley During July

A national traveling exhibit, produced by National Braille Press in celebration of the Louis Braille Bicentennial, will be on display at the Hadley School during July. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10 am to 2 pm, July 2-3, the public is invited to stop by and learn about the life of Louis Braille through a colorful exhibit designed in print and braille.

On July 13, Hadley and the French Institute of the North Shore celebrate Bastille Day and Louis Braille’s 200th Birthday. On July 14, C. Michael Mellor, author of "Louis Braille: A Touch of Genius" discusses and signs his book and talks about the traveling exhibit. Learn more about Hadley’s celebrations honoring Louis Braille.

Hadley introduces select courses in Digital Talking Book Format

A new media choice is being tested for select courses! "Guide Dogs" and "Business Writing" courses can now be taken in DAISY Digital Talking Book (DTB) format, available to download from the Hadley Web site. Use your Victor Stream or other DAISY player to listen to the fully navigable course materials. Hadley's DTB courses use a recorded human voice, not synthetic speech. Let your instructor know what you think once you try out this new Hadley media choice. To enroll, Contact Student Services or call at 800-526-9909.
